AP Microeconomics Exam

AP Microeconomics introduces students to the principles of economics that apply to individual decision-makers, focusing on the behavior of households and firms in market settings. The exam is taken at the end of the school year and tests all microeconomics principles covered in the course.

The Microeconomics Exam is a hybrid digital exam; the multiple choice questions are administered and answered in the testing app (Bluebook), while the free response questions are presented on the app and answered by hand in exam booklets.

Content Categories

The exam is a total of two hours and ten minutes and is divided into two sections:

Multiple Choice

You have one hour and ten minutes to answer 60 questions, which are worth 66% of your score.

Free Response

You have one hour to answer one long and two short free response questions, which are worth 33% of your score.

The test administrators allow a four-function calculator for the duration of the exam.
